Metadata Database

The third component of our Business Management platform is the Metadata database.  Organized within Microsoft Outlook, the Metadata database accumulates an array of information required to effectively handle your financial management.  Strict adherence to a standardized format ensures maximum efficiency when working in the database.  And storing the records in a central location eliminates data scatter and enhances security of the files.

Information stored in the Metadata database helps us to carry out the everyday tasks associated with managing your life.  Key information in connection with your assets, liabilities and significant transactions is memorialized in this database.  The data file on your home, for example, will include the date of purchase, purchase price, name of the seller, the real estate agents involved in the transaction, the manner in which title is held, the County APN number, the name of the escrow company handling the transaction, the year your home was built, the square footage, and so on.  The date file for your automobiles will include the make, model, year, VIN, license plate number, purchase date, dealership.

With respect to the million dollar painting hanging in the living room, metadata would include the name of the artist, the title of the painting, the signature date of the work, the date on which the painting was acquired, the name of the gallery from where it was purchased, information on the provenance and any other important identifying information.  These metadata files consolidate the important information of your life into a single cohesive database.

All business managers work with metadata.  We could not do our jobs without it.  The key to success is how well this information is managed.  For many business managers metadata is stored on a variety of insecure mediums haphazardly scattered throughout their organization.  Some of the information may be held in a word document.  Other data may be found on an index card (yes, an index card).  Still other records are entered in cells on an Excel spreadsheet.  Lacking a centralized, organized and standardized repository, this data is prone to theft, deterioration, misfiling or destruction.  We ensure that this crucial information is organized in a digital format that is readily accessible while simultaneously protected with multiple levels of security and encryption.
